The second track completed for the album. This song was written in a few hours after messing around with some interesting finger picking chords and just grew from there, being written and recorded in one day. Lyrically, this is inspired by Orchid and Hot Cross and deals with the ciiirrrcccllleeee of liiiiifffeeee. This track is titled after the 1976 film 'Taxi Driver'
lyrics
I have died one thousand times,
and I will die one thousand more.
The birds have feasted on my remains,
and the flowers have blossomed too.
My memories slip through my fingertips,
like sand in the hourglass.
I've left too many lives behind,
I have died one thousand times.

The instrumentation alone is so viscerally emotive and still outstanding on a technical level… Add to that the masterfully raw vocals and profoundly beautiful lyrical imagery, and you’re left with one of the most soul-stirring pieces of music in all of rock’s history. Simply the greatest screamo band of all time. There is nothing quite like it. Audrey
