The lo-fi intro that you hear in the beginning is literally the demo I recorded seconds after writing the initial idea. I recorded the instruments using the microphone on my laptop and then attempted to EQ it so it wasn't a painful mesh of harsh noise on your ears. I really liked the idea of opening the album with a very poorly recorded riff before exploding into the actual track. This is one of several tracks to feature a thematic riff structure throughout the album.
The instrumentation alone is so viscerally emotive and still outstanding on a technical level… Add to that the masterfully raw vocals and profoundly beautiful lyrical imagery, and you’re left with one of the most soul-stirring pieces of music in all of rock’s history. Simply the greatest screamo band of all time. There is nothing quite like it. Audrey
